Thoughts on Unity and John 17, Part 2 | Miracles — Primarily First Century?

Way back in early March of this year, I created a small bit of controversy in what resulted in the heaviest traffic this blog had ever seen. On one day (March 7), I received 396 page loads. (For those of you not familiar with website stats, a page load is any time a page is viewed and does not necessarily represent unique visitors.) I have never come close to that amount of traffic in one day since. For the most part, I get about 60, 70, maybe 80 hits on a good day.

Until today…

Apparently, there is a “social bookmarking” site called stumbleupon.com which enables people to browse to blogs and websites that fit their interests. If I understand it correctly (I’m not even sure I know how all this works), someone sees something that they like, and they “stumble it”, meaning that they list that page on stumbleupon.com. Then, others who are interested in similar topics can click a button in their browser and surf from site to site viewing content that is related to those topics.

So, apparently someone really liked my post “You Might Be Misrepresenting God”. And they decided to “stumble it”. I saw a bump the other day to 171 page loads — quite a bit for me in recent months as I haven’t been writing much and haven’t really stirred too many pots.

But today, the traffic started again, and as of the writing of this post there have been 2,387 page loads today. I’m not really big on stats like I used to be, but I can’t help feeling a little funny about the fact that so many people are looking at this blog all of a sudden. Maybe I should have quit writing when I said I was losing my voice!!

So, the burning question is: who stumbled me?? ;) I’m not sure yet whether to thank you or to permanently ban you from my blog…hehe! Just kidding.

Until next time,

steve :)

Perhaps it was like that office supply/equipment commercial where the baby keeps hitting the “easy button.”

Or could it be you’re getting confirmation, with no rational explanation, that you are a valuable resource who can serve effectively in this capacity.

Were you maybe expecting a burning bush to appear on your screen?

Well, it was obviously my link to your post on my blog that accounts for the traffic. Ha ha.

Sorry, wasn’t me who stumbled! I think my blog’s been stumbled once, but it never created that kind of result!

Congratulations Steve. I’m on the edge of my seta wondering how the stats will run over the next week or so.

Wasn’t me. I had never heard of StumbleUpon.

Hello :) I just “stumbled” across your site. I think its a great way to reach people — great site. I’ll be checking back.

I too stumbled upon your site using Stumble Upon. You choose the categories of interest and hit “Stumble” on your tool bar and it will take you only to sites under those parameters. You also control site content to skip any sites listed as “adult” in nature. I found a great Homeschool Buyers Co-op today for great group discounts and joined right away. I highly recommend it as a great way to find useful and interesting sites you would logically never “stumble upon” otherwise.

You have a very attractive and informative site. Keep up the good work.

I stumbled here today (Dec. 6). I’m part of the StumbleUpon community. The StumbleUpon toolbar informs me that some guy named EissMan suggested it. Thanks for this blog. I appreciate it and look forward to reading it in days to come.

I’m another who came here through Stumble. Since then, I have blogged about that post (and read a couple of others), and added your RSS feed. I’ll be coming back for more “wisdom”. :)

your title scared me! good to know you haven’t uploaded a millstone ’round your neck. :)
Ryann put on your beautiful Christmas cd on (again) today and i wanted to come by and say Happy Christmas to the lovely Sensenig clan!

No stumbling here. I haven’t tried StumbleUpon (yet). You’re site was listed on a “Best of Blogs” website in the Christian category. I stopped by to see if you actually deserve it. ;) Congrats!

As long as you don’t cause any of the little ones (us) to stumble, keep up the good work.

I don’t know, who stumbled this blogentry. But I found “You Might Be Misrepresenting God” via stumble upon and it was a user of the stumble upon community named debbie-c, who added that post to the list.

LOL … that’s happened to me too, Steve, but never with those numbers attached. Stumble is like Digg or Delicious. My husband uses it when he wants to just wander the web. It’s funny, sometimes I’ll ask what he’s doing. “Just stumbling,” is the reply.

Good on ya! That was an excellent post and deserving of the attention.

I “Stumbledon” that list. Great list. Now I’ve bookmarked your blog.

    Your response is…interesting.
Does a speaker speak not to be heard?
If you write truth, its not about how many people see it is it?
Its about being true to that continuity…
    the voice of the Spirit…..
So if you get 1,000,000 hits, who cares.
    Keep telling the truth.
Believe it or not, the things that come from passion are being illuminated in this time….
    Jesus come.

I just found your site through Stumble Upon too. It has been a great tool to lead me to some sites and it has also been great for hits to my sites. BTW, I live in western NC too.

I’m here also because of StumbleUpon. And, actually, the person who very first discovered your site, and stumbled” you, as you call it was a man named Larry Eissman. You can find out more about him at: http://eissman.stumbleupon.com/

    Great site!

I don’t know if I was the first one, but I did stumble the “You might be misrepresenting God” page, and sent it on to a couple of my stumbleupon friends.
